JCDR agricultural college, Tadipatri had its genesis in the year 2016 as an affiliated college of Acharya N. G. Ranga Agricultural University (ANGRAU) at Tadipatri with the mandate of providing quality education in the field of agriculture under the gallant leadership of Mr. J.C. Diwakar Reddy garu who is also the president of “J.C. Diwakar Educational Society”. The College is located in a serene environment on the premises of Aswartham (5 Kms), the abode of Sri Lakshmi Sametha Aswartha Narayana Swamy and Sri Chakra Bhavani Bheema Lingeswara Swamy on the ashore of Pinakini (Penna) river and 12 kms from the town called Tadipatri in Anantapuramu District. J.C.D.R. Agricultural College is a self financed Co- Educational institution that has been established over an area of 110 acres along with the structural buildings and farm land located in longitude of 14° 34′ 48.72” NL, 77° 47′ 7.0008” EL MSL 791 and started functioning from 03-10-2016.
The College is locatedl in longitude of 14° 34' 48.72'' NL, 77° 47' 7.0008'' EL MSL 791 at a very pleasant agricultural landscape which is just 12 kms from the town called Tadipatri in Anantapur District.
J.C.D.R. Agricultural College is a self financed Co- Educational institution which is equipped with abundant infrastructure in a massive 110 acres of land.The colege has its well laid out farm with sizeable area orchards.It has different farms,different crops,for demonstration to the students to imparrt practical knowledge along with crop cafeteria,orchards andd seed production plots.
It is furnished with renovated hostels,play ground,medical support system,canteen,gymnasium. The college is a luch green and eco friendly campus with initiatives like solar power system,rain water harvesting,percolation tanks,biological waste disposal system,tree adpotion by students,etc.
Presently, B.Sc. (Hons) Agriculture degree programme is being offered. The various departments include 1.Agronomy 2. Genetics and Plant Breeding, 3. Plant Pathology 4. Entomolgy, 5. Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry 6. Agricultural Economics, 7.Agricultural Extension, 8. Crop Physiology, 9. Agricultural Engineering, 10. Horticulture 11. Biochemistry 12. Agricultural Microbiology, 13. Molecular Biology and Biotechnology,14. Statistics and Computer Applications, 15. English. The college is a ‘Ragging free’ campus that strictly adheres to anti ragging policy. The college has a team of well qualified faculty who make rapid strides towards providing unmatched novelties in the curriculum. The college is well equipped with upgraded smart classrooms for better teaching experience. All the departments have well furnished labs as per the ICAR norms. The library is the heart of the institute with equal emphasis to print & electronic resources with its wide collection of books, periodicals, journals-both Indian and international and electronic databases.
